Tall Western Penstemon Penstemon hesperius was first recognized as a species in 1932 endemic to the Columbia River in the vicinity of Portland, Oregon and Camas, Washington. It is currently known from three small extant populations in Oregon and one in Washington on lands protected by the Washington Department of Natural Resources. It is distinctive in being nearly 5 feet tall.
